Agribusiness (B.S.) - Agribusiness Option

Students will complete course work in science, math, and communication, plus courses in agribusiness and agricultural economics. To give a better understanding of agribusiness and the broad range the field covers, students will choose from three degree options: agribusiness, food industry economics, and international agribusiness.
This program of study provides fundamental agribusiness content with course work in agricultural economics, agribusiness, and business courses that will prepare graduates for the industry and its related issues.

Agricultural Economics (27 credit hours)
Agricultural Economics Electives (15 credit hours)
Include at least one numbered 598 or above Agricultural and Food Science Technology Restricted Electives (6 credit hours)
Agricultural and Food Science Technology or Business Electives (6 credit hours)
(> 300 level)
Select from any non-AGEC courses in agriculture not used in Ag and Food Science Technology restricted electives, HN 132, HN 301, or any College of Business class (>300 level). Communication (14 credit hours)
Economics/Business (21 credit hours)
- ACCTG, FINAN, MANGT, OR MKTG Elective (300-level or above) Credits: (3)
- ACCTG, FINAN, MANGT, OR MKTG Elective (500-level or above) Credits: (3)
Mathematics/Statistics (6-9 credit hours)
Natural Sciences (8 credit hours)
Select a combination of 2 courses for a total of 8 credit hours. Social Sciences/Humanities (9 credit hours)
- Social Science Elective Credits: (3) [Select from Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, History, Geography, Women’s Studies or American Ethnic Studies]
Unrestricted electives as needed to meet 127 credit hours
Total credit hours required for graduation (127 credit hours)
Must satisfy K-State 8 general education requirements.
IMPORTANT NOTES: Students who first enroll in Summer 2011 or later must meet the requirements of the K-State 8 General Education Program.
Students who began their programs of study in earlier terms under the University General Education (UGE) program may complete their degrees with UGE requirements or may choose to move to the K-State 8. Students should check with their academic advisors to determine which choice would be better. To switch, students must consult with their academic advisors.
Students who are readmitted in Summer 2011 and later will be designated as meeting the K-State 8 by the Office of Admissions. Deans’ offices can make an exception for the readmitted student who has completed UGE or who would prefer to complete UGE requirements.
