HORT 541 - Hydroponic Food Production Credits 2
This course explores hydroponic crop production in the United States, covering production of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, leafy greens, strawberries, herbs, cut flowers, and microgreens in a variety of production systems, including aquaponics, used in controlled environment agriculture. Topics include system design and construction considerations, nutrient management, pollination and pest management in hydroponics, sustainability of the systems and safe food handling practices.
