BME 830 - Advanced Biomaterials Credits 3
Structure-function relationships of biomaterials and biomaterial characterization will be covered. Materials for medical implants, tissue engineering, biosensing, imaging, and drug delivery will be addressed.
Note Prerequisite topics: An undergraduate course in organic chemistry or materials science (e.g. Organic Chemistry (CHM 531)); an undergraduate course in biology or physiology (e.g. Principles of Biology (BIOL 198)). Familiarity with polymer chemistry and material characterization methods is recommended.
