BME 775 - Applications of Advanced Microscopy in BME Credits 3
This course introduces the advanced applications of microscopy techniques including light, fluorescence, super-resolution, and electron microscopy. Students will gain a deep understanding of the interaction mechanisms of light with biological tissues, the working principles behind major microscopy technologies, and their applications in biomedical engineering.
Note Prerequisite topics:
[BME Skill Development Experience (BME 390) and Principles of Biology (BIOL 198)] OR [an undergraduate course in physics covering optics or wave phenomena (e.g. Engineering Physics II (PHYS 214)); an undergraduate course in biology covering cell structure and function (e.g. Principles of Biology (BIOL 198)). Familiarity with basic image analysis or scientific computing (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is recommended]
