VCS 817 - Incident Response Credits 1
This introductory course provides students with the training and credentials needed to volunteer as a disaster responder. In-person lecture classes will introduce students to disaster response as it relates to animals and the role of veterinarians on a local and state level. Online modules within the Incident Command Systems (ICS) and National Field Response (NFR) will expose veterinary students to the veterinarian’s role in ICS and the multiple agencies involved with disaster response on a national level. Successful completion of the online modules aligns with training required to become certified for disaster response deployment.

Requisites Pre-requisite: 1st and 2nd Year Standing in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
