Credits 1

This introductory course provides students with the training and credentials needed to volunteer as a disaster responder.  In-person lectures classes will introduce students to disaster response as it relates to animals and the role of veterinarians on a local and state level.  Online modules within the Incident Command Systems (ICS) and National Field Response (NFR) will expose veterinary students to the veterinarian’s role in ICS and the multiple agencies involved with disaster response on a national level.  Successful completion of the online modules aligns with training required to become certified for disaster response deployment.
