KIN 380 - Foundations of Exercise Training

Credits: 3

This course introduces the foundational principles of exercise training and their scientific underpinnings. Topics include anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, nutrition, and psychology as they relate to training adaptations. Students will learn movement assessment, exercise techniques, and evaluation methods with an emphasis on safe and effective execution. Major training areas covered include resistance training adaptations, aerobic and anaerobic endurance, and muscular endurance. Practical labs require active participation and demonstration of proper training techniques.
