CHE 831 - Advanced Nanotechnology in Chemical Engineering

This course will cover concepts of nanoscience and nanotechnology: material
continuum; fundamental properties of nanomaterials; nanomaterials (nanoparticles, nanocarbons,hybrid nanomaterials, nanocomposites, semiconductor quantum wells, nanowires, and quantum dots); fabrication and characterization methods; selected applications of nanomaterials such as energy storage, thermal management, sensing, electronic devices, composites, energy harvesting (photovoltaics), environmental remediation, medicine, and heterogeneous catalysis.

Senior undergraduate or graduate standing in engineering, or permission of the
instructor. It will be assumed that the student has been exposed to basic materials science.
