CHE 831 - Advanced Nanotechnology in Chemical Engineering Credits: 3
This course will cover concepts of nanoscience and nanotechnology: material
continuum; fundamental properties of nanomaterials; nanomaterials (nanoparticles, nanocarbons,hybrid nanomaterials, nanocomposites, semiconductor quantum wells, nanowires, and quantum dots); fabrication and characterization methods; selected applications of nanomaterials such as energy storage, thermal management, sensing, electronic devices, composites, energy harvesting (photovoltaics), environmental remediation, medicine, and heterogeneous catalysis.
Repeat for Credit N
Requisites Senior undergraduate or graduate standing in engineering, or permission of the
instructor. It will be assumed that the student has been exposed to basic materials science.
