FFM 179 - Intro to Feed and Pet Food Practicum Credits: 1
This hands-on course offers an applied learning experience that provides an overview of feed manufacturing and pet food processing. Students will engage in practical activities such as ingredient handling, formulation, mixing, pelleting, extrusion, canning, and quality testing, while learning about the equipment and processes involved in both industries. The course emphasizes real-world problem-solving, production optimization, and maintaining product quality and safety. By the end of the course, students will have gained valuable experience in the operational aspects of feed and pet food manufacturing, preparing them for technical and managerial roles.
