ASMS 221 - Safety Applications Practicum

This course offers a hands-on, applied learning experience focused on employee safety in grain handling and food and feed manufacturing facilities. Students will actively engage in safety assessments, hazard identification, and the implementation of safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), confined space entry procedures, and machine safeguarding. The course provides practical, real-world training in safety compliance, risk mitigation, and emergency response. By the end of the course, students will have gained valuable experience in applying safety practices to maintain safe working environments in high-risk industrial settings.
