Introduction to the processes and methods used by fashion and retail buyers to plan and purchase merchandise. Application of fashion theory, principles, and sources of information in conducting market and consumer research. Forecasting economic trends in retailing and consumer buying behavior. Emphasis placed on merchandising mathematics, creating spreadsheets in Excel, and key industry terminology used by retail buyers.
