KIN 550 - Health Promotion Practice Methods

Credits: 4

A health promotion course in which the role of a public health professional in community-based program planning will be discussed including the steps of a needs assessment. Additionally, students will learn various intervention strategies that can be used in the public health field to promote health.  Major concepts, theories, and principles of health promotion/education and intervention strategies will form the foundation of this class.  Cultural, social, and developmental influences on health behavior will also be explored.
