UAS 367 - Introduction to UAS Automated Fixed-Wing Flight Lab

Credits: 3

This course focuses on developing the pilot’s ability to control the UAS via a computer ground control station in the crew role of air vehicle operator (AVO). Students will become proficient in conducting site surveys, building UAS flight plans, contingency planning, emergency procedures, crew resource management, and developing mission briefings. Students will also learn methods for effectively instructing fixed-wing flight operations by developing lesson plans and conducting instructional flights.  

Note:
Six hours of lab per week plus individual simulator work. Students are required to travel to an area designated for flight operations.
