Overview of the outdoor recreation industry and profession with emphasis on history of outdoor recreation in the U.S., current trends, public/private delivery systems, and associated individual and societal benefits. Highlights the breadth and diversity of the outdoor recreation industry and emphasizes the contributions and outcomes associated with outdoor recreation participation.
