SPAN 734 - 18th- and 19th- Century Spain Credits: 3
Contextualized discussion and analysis of literature and cultural life in 18th-19th-century Spain. Course may be focused on a theme, genre, or movement (Enlightenment, Romanticism, Realism, Naturalism). Topics may include anticlericalism and Catholicism; revolution and empire; scientific reasoning.
Note: Develops ability to interpret and craft complex, abstract language. Reading- and writing-intensive class.
