Comparative analysis of contemporary schools of sociological thought showing their development, current status, and possible future trends. Emphasis on structural functionalism, Marxism and neo-Marxism, symbolic interactionism, phenomenology and ethnomethodology, and exchange theory. A working knowledge of classical sociological theory is assumed.
