GEOL 581 - Principles of Paleontology Credits: 3
This course introduces the diverse ways in which data from the fossil record can be applied to address geological and paleontological questions. The lectures focus on the principles by which fossil data is gathered and interpreted. The labs focus on the identification of various fossil groups, providing opportunities to make paleoecological and paleoenvironmental interpretations.
Note: Two 1.5 hour lectures, and one 3-hour lab per week.
