Contextualized discussion of Spanish American poetry over time, focused on a theme or region.  Examples: musicality and song lyrics, places and journeys, voice and identity, innovation.

Note:
Develops the ability to interpret and craft complex, abstract language. Reading- and writing-intensive class.

Requisites:
Prerequisite: SPAN 550 and an additional 6 hours at the 500-level or instructor permission.
