CE 572 - Highway Engineering

Credits: 3

Apply highway design principles first introduced in CE 571.  Develop CAAD skills necessary to enter the engineering workforce.  Plan and propose multiple alternatives for a highway alignment.  Design new highway alignments and intersections. Consider earthwork and how it influences highway design.  Introduce pavement design as it applies to highway alignments and intersections.

Note:
Two 50-minute lectures and one two-hour lab per week.

Requisites:
Prerequisite: “C” or better in CE 571, and CE 522.
