DMP 691 - Introduction to High Containment Research Topics and Techniques

Credits: 2

This course examines the rationale behind the skills and techniques taught in DMP 690 Essential Practices for High Containment Research Settings.  Students will gain familiarity with case studies, scientific readings, and laboratory research papers to discuss best practices in the laboratory. Students review and discuss research papers, topics, and practices related to biological agents and toxins appropriate for research conducted in BSL-3, Animal BSL-3 (ABSL-3), and Large Animal BSL-3 (BSL-3Ag) facilities. Concurrent enrollment of DMP 690 Essential Practices for High Containment Research Settings is required.
