CIS 531 - Introduction to Programming Techniques for Data Science and Analytics

Credits: 3

Introduction to programming techniques for working with big data. Survey of programming concepts that underlie the MapReduce architecture, their implementation, and specific tools for data integration and data transformation. Basic databases and query processing in the context of real-world problems.

Requisites
Prerequisite: Either CIS 200, CIS 209, or CC 210; and either STAT 325 or STAT 510. Students may enroll in CIS courses only if they have earned a grade of C or better for each prerequisite to those courses.
