Examination of urban form and the making of livable and sustainable metropolitan regions from an urban design perspective.  Introduction to public and private roles in the creation of urban form at regional, city, neighborhood, and site scales; consideration of regional and global consequences of local decisions; examination of design tools and methods used to shape decision making in urban development.
