MATH 713 - Advanced Applied Matrix Theory

Credits: 3

A development of the concepts of eigenvalues by considering applications in differential equations, quadratic forms and estimation problems. Supporting topics include the Jordan canonical form, functions of matrices, vector and matrix norms, convex sets, with selected topics from the theory and application of the simplex algorithm, Markov chains, Leslie population models, Leontieff input-output model.

Requisites
Prerequisite: MATH 551 or 630.
