HN 720 - Global Health and Nutrition

Credits: (3)

This course is designed to examine major global nutrition and health challenges, programs and policies. Students will become acquainted with the epidemiology of nutritional disease in developed and developing countries. Programs and resources available to combat malnutrition will be evaluated. It will help students analyze current and emerging global health priorities, including emerging infectious diseases, newer nutritional problems, health inequity, health systems reforms, and major global initiatives for disease prevention and health promotion.

Designed for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in health related field, including biological or social sciences.

Requisites
Prerequisite: Graduate level classification, or undergraduate student with instructor permission.
