HIST 540 - Women in America, 1600 to the Civil WarCredits: (3) An overview of the history of American women from the beginning of the European colonization to the Civil War. Women’s changing social role and its relation to the major transformations in American culture and society during this period is stressed. Special emphasis is given to ethnic, racial, and class variations among women.
