HIST 524 - The History of Baseball in American CultureCredits: (3) The history of baseball from its origins in the early nineteenth century to the present, with emphasis on the major leagues and their collateral organizations but also with attention to semi-pro and amateur baseball and to the old Negro Leagues. The history of the game will be examined in the context of American history with special reference to social issues, politics, religion, literature, music, and the medial.
