DANCE 459 - History of Dance in Its Cultural Setting

The study of developments and changes in the style, technique, and purpose of ceremonial and theatrical dancing from the Greeks to the present. Emphasis on the interaction between this art and the total culture-social, religious, artistic, and political-in which it is performed.
