MUSIC 160 - Music Listening Laboratory

A basic introduction to music. Overview of Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classic, Romantic, and Twentieth Century stylistic periods; elements of music (melody, rhythm, harmony, form, timbre); and instrument recognition. The focus of the class is on developing listening skills and learning to write brief papers using the new language that has been acquired.

Requisites
Prerequisite: Limited to non-music majors.
